About the Aftermarket Data Vision

The objectives of the study were to clinically and objectively survey and research the needs, requirements, issues and challenges associated with data management in the industry. Further, by benchmarking against the best practices in other industries, the study will recommend a path for the aftermarket to follow and provide a high-level model of the solution, if one is indicated.

Background

In July, 2005 The Aftermarket Data Vision (ADV) commissioned The Catevo Group (previously Digiton Corporation) to conduct a feasibility study to determine the standards and requirements for creating an aftermarket industry product data repository and distribution system. Between August 2005 and July 2006 nearly 1,000 aftermarket professionals participated in interviews, online surveys and focus groups.
